Основной целью настоящей работы является изучение изменения в общественном мнении и восприятии России и русских (Японии и японцев) японскими/российскими студентами за последние пять лет. Эмпирические данные, используемые для статьи - это результаты опросов, проведенных автором в 2007 и 2012 гг. в университетах Японии и России.

The main aim of this paper is to examine the changes in public attitude and perceptions of Japanese/Russian students towards Russia/Japan during previous five years. The empirical data used for the paper are based on polls carried out by author in 2007 and in 2012 at the Universities in Japan and Russia.
